Industrial Design and Engineering

The Programming and Software Development major introduces students to fundamentals of computer programming, software, database, and game development. Emphasis will be placed on software development process including web and mobile application development (both iOS and Android). The program prepares students for careers as computer programmers, game developers, software developers, web developers, mobile application developers, database developers/administrators, computer systems analysts, and software quality assurance engineers and testers. The program provides students with fundamental skills to continue with their undergraduate education and also provide supplementary skills to be successful in their careers.

The Computer Technology program leads to an Associate in Applied Science degree, and is coordinated by the Math, Engineering and Computer Science (MEC) department. This curriculum provides the skills needed for careers in a rapidly growing technical area. Students will be prepared for careers as field technicians specializing in microcomputer repair and network diagnosis. Students will be prepared to transfer to a bachelor of technology program at senior colleges.

The Industrial Design program, coordinated by the Humanities Department leads to an Associate of Applied Science Degree (AAS), and is proud to be the only program of its kind in New York. The role of an industrial designer is to create and execute design solutions towards problems of form, usability, user ergonomics, engineering, marketing, brand development and sales. The Industrial Design program provides students a foundation experience in the necessary skills to begin a career in Computer Assisted Design (CAD), Model making, Product Design and Fabrication or transfer to a four-year institution.
